Flow Translate translates text on your device. Message text is never sent to Flow Translate servers, never stored by us, never sold, and never used for advertising or profiling. This policy covers all four products: the Android app, the iPhone app, the Mac app, and the Chrome extension.
The Flow Translate keyboard translates the text you type. Translation runs on your device with Google ML Kit. Language packs are downloaded from Google to your device. The microphone is used only while you hold the microphone key; dictation is handled by the speech recognition provider selected on your device. Flow Translate does not record or upload audio.
Optional incoming message translation. If you enable it, Flow Translate uses the Android Accessibility service. While WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business is the app on screen, the service reads the text of visible incoming messages and their position on screen so it can place a small translate icon next to them. The message text is passed to the on-device translator only when you tap that icon. Flow Translate does not read other apps, does not read your chat history or contacts, does not tap controls, does not send messages, and takes no action on your behalf. You can turn the service off at any time in Android Settings > Accessibility. Before the service is enabled, the app shows a separate disclosure that you must accept.
The Flow Translate keyboard translates the text you type, on your device, with Google ML Kit. The iPhone app does not read incoming messages. iOS does not allow a keyboard extension to read the content of other apps, and Flow Translate does not attempt it.
The Mac app translates the text you type in WhatsApp Desktop, and can translate an incoming message you point at. To do this it uses the macOS Accessibility API to read the message bubble under your mouse pointer in WhatsApp Desktop, so it can place a translate button next to it. The message text is translated only when you click that button. Translation uses Apple’s on-device Translation framework. Flow Translate reads only WhatsApp Desktop, does not read your chat history, and stores nothing. You control Accessibility access in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
The extension runs only on web.whatsapp.com. It reads your message draft when you ask it to translate, or when automatic translation on send is enabled. For incoming messages it reads the text of a single message only after you press the translate button on that message. The extension does not scan your chat history automatically and does not read your contacts or your browsing history. Translation and language detection use Chrome’s built-in on-device APIs; Chrome may download language models from Google.
Our server (api.ayarux.com) does not translate anything and never receives message text. It answers two questions: how many free translations this installation has used, and whether a purchase is valid.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use it for advertising, credit decisions, or profiling. We do not have user accounts and we do not collect your name, e-mail address, phone number, or contacts. Service providers (Cloudflare for hosting, Google Play and Apple for purchases) process data on our behalf only for the purposes above.
Settings stay on your device. On Chrome, the target language, the on/off state, the automatic-translation preference, and the random installation identifier are kept in Chrome sync storage and may be synchronised by Google if you turned Chrome Sync on. On our server, the free-use counter and the purchase records are kept for as long as the limit or the licence needs to be enforced; pairing codes are deleted after 10 minutes and unused sessions after 400 days. All connections are encrypted with HTTPS.
Flow Translate is not directed at children and is rated for general audiences aged 13 and over.
You can turn off incoming message translation at any time (Android Settings > Accessibility, macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility, or by removing the Chrome extension). Signing out in the app or the extension deletes your licence session on our server as well as on your device. The free-use record holds only a one-way hash and a counter. It contains nothing that identifies you, and the hash cannot be traced back to a person, so we cannot tell which record belongs to whom and cannot delete an individual record on request. It is kept only for as long as the limit has to be enforced.
